Update on Sarah's family

Life goes on and is very busy as usual. Obviously Sarah isn't here and Elizabeti has gone for a week to a Christian women's crusade in Dar and then to work on her shamba. (Farm). There has been a big meeting of Sarah's family and the children have been divided up between the family. I have stayed out of this completely as I think it is important that the Tanzanian family work out their own solutions without relying on my money. So far things seem to be going OK. Sarah's ex-husband seems to be doing his bit and is providing for his children, although they are staying in Sarah's house. I have been out to the school a couple of times to check on the children and they all seem to be still going and doing well. On Tuesday we have a meeting with a lawyer who will help to transfer the paperwork of the house into the names of Sarah's children. The other plan is to build another room onto Sarah's house, that can be rented out and provide a small long term income. If anyone would like to contribute to this it would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure of the cost, but donations could be sent to MAF. Just put it for us and then let us know by e-mail what you have donated so we can put the money aside for this project.

In other news, I have my mum visiting. She is slowly re-organising my house and is working through a huge pile of mending. Children + trees = holes. She has also been doing a bit of work at the school, helping out with some children who have English as their second language. She is staying in the house next door, which has worked out quite nicely as out neighbours are away until after she leaves. Tomorrow we have Joshua's 8th birthday party. A little early, as my mum is here, his actual birthday is September 11th. He wanted a puppy party, so we have lots of doggy games planned, a doggy cake, hot dogs and doggy bags. Photos to come.

Other big news, they have opened a travel cafe in Dodoma run by a Swiss/Italian couple. Finally I can get a cappucino in Dodoma. I have been twice in the last week!!

We were so sorry to hear the news about Sarah. She sounds a lovely person. You will miss her all of you. I am glad the children seem to be getting on alright. We prayed for you this morning at our prayer breakfast.
Annabel.
