Driving in Nairobi

You see all sorts of random things when you drive around Nairobi, with our new A to Z we have been all over the place. Today in the middle of the road works we saw this guy on a camel, completely random, so I took a sneaky photo. You get a lot of people selling things in and around the traffic like you do in any 3rd world city from DVDs to bottles of water to aerials. It was the same in Dar, but this week, a first for me, we saw a guy selling rabbits one day and then the next day puppies. Sorry no picture of this, he was too close to me to be able to take a subtle photo.

Big city - yeah and still - man on camel. All very normal and yet - even for African I suppose a little strange? I am really enjoying reading your impressions and I love your photos. Keep them coming. In some ways the city looks a little like Karachi but the slums that sounds absolutely terruible. I am so glad I was born here and I suppose that God's blessing to me. It so seems to depend where you are born nowadays not fair really but then life has never been fair has it. Let's do all we can to make it fairer! Just come back from Soul Survivor and have been reminded - several times - about all the amazing projects christians are working in in order to make the world a fairer en better place. I'm in. I'll do what I can. Now we are not sponsoring Yohanne any more, don't know where he's got to, we're looking at sponsoring a child through the sponsor a child campaign perhaps. Always like to do these things direct bnecause it cuts of the middle man and the child getsd everything but organisations need to be allowed to operte to so what do you think?
let me know. In the meantime, love your new surroundings and keep up posted.
PS church has the carpets!!!!! Doors (internal) coming Monday!
love els
